Storybook Pumpkin Patch

Rutland Elementary Library is growing a storybook pumpkin patch and we need your help! At home, decorate a pumpkin to look like one of your favorite book characters (there are lots of examples on line if you are looking for some inspiration) and bring it to the school to plant in our Storybook Pumpkin Patch!  Pick your favourite book character, grab your craft supplies and have fun! Acrylic paints or permanent markers work best and you can add items such as fabric, yarn, buttons etc. (Please note that NO CARVED pumpkins or CUT pumpkins will be accepted as they will rot during the week.)

Bring your decorated pumpkin and entry form to the library on Monday, October 26 and make sure to take them home at the end of school on Friday October 30. Please note we will be sending pumpkins home with students so please make sure they can carry them. This is entirely a volunteer activity. There will be a few prizes awarded by random draw. Have fun and be creative!
